except hitting start brings up a character select menu. Since there is no player 2, it looks like it's not responding to the gamepad at all. Navigating the menus via gamepad (without mapping the "Bluetooth XINPUT compatible input device" controls first), I can start the game as player 1, but then that same controller I started with is assigned to player 2 when gameplay begins. Tinkering with it in the menus or directly via inputconfigs.dat leads to all sorts of weirdness. The problem seems to be that the game sees my controller as two separate controllers, and thinks it's receiving input from both of these controllers at once. (top half, at least through bombs, seems to match the Keyboard list) It also seems to have one more line of controls to set than the keyboard list does, so I'm not sure what that extra option would be, or what order the bottom half of the list should be in. * "Bluetooth XINPUT compatible input device" - No labels. Not as many controls to set as the keyboard list, but that's by design, I'm sure. * "XInput Controller 1" - All the labels seem fine on that one too. If I turn off the gamepad or bluetooth, this is the only option that appears, which suggests the game is giving two separate entries on the control menu to that one gamepad.
* "Keyboard" - All the labels seem fine on that one. On my PC, the game's control menu lists three controllers. The game is trying to work out what controls go to which player, and failing at it. I think the problem is tied to the new multiplayer mode that was added in the latest DLC, which explains why the bug didn't appear before "Repentance" was installed. I've got an Xbox Elite 2 gamepad, which is connected via bluetooth.
